The Grodzka Gate in Lublin was also known as the Jewish Gate - it was the conventional border between the Christian city within the walls and the Jewish district. Today it houses the permanent exhibition “Lublin. Memory of the Place”, devoted to the history of the pre-war city and its inhabitants.
The "Grodzka Gate - NN Theater" Centre introduces visitors to the history of Lublin Jews. Among the exhibits there are rich collections of photos, recordings of memories about Lublin, documents describing old streets, houses, and specific people, as well as a model of the medieval city. The exhibition space is divided into three parts - the first tells the story of a Jewish city before 1939, the second commemorates the Jews murdered during the Holocaust, and the third presents the history of the Righteous Among the Nations.
Guided tours (also in English) are possible at fixed times, from Monday to Friday. Tickets are available for purchase at www.bilety.teatrnwww.bilety.teatrnn.pl/n.pl or at the Information Center of the “Grodzka Gate - NN Theater” (ul. Grodzka 21, open from Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm).
