The new year will start the fourth edition of the Festival of Set and Costume Desigh "Stage under Construction", lasting from January till April in the Centre for the Meetings of Culture. During the events interesting plays, workshops, and exhibitions will take place.
At the turn of January and February you will be able to follow the competition between amazing horses and talented riders taking part in the horse riding cycle Cavaliada Tour (30 January - 2 February 2020).
The end of June will bring the East of Culture – Different Sounds Art'n'Music Festival (25-28 June 2020). You will experience wonderful, unconventional sounds, and find some propositions from the area of film, literature, and contemporary art.
Night of Culture (6/7 June 2020) is one of those events that don't need further introduction. This year the organizers invite you to discover the non-perfect beauty of Lublin and look at it with a certain tenderness. Thanks to the artistic installations the streets and alleys of the city centre will change beyond recognition. Let this Night surprise you!
At the beginning of July folk ensembles from all over the world will visit the Lublin Region to present their native customs. During the Ignacy Wachowiak's International Folklore Meetings (8-12 July 2020) you will experience the best kinds of folklore. In the program you will find street parades, performances in Lublin and other towns of the Lublin Voivodeship, as well as dance and music workshops.
Imagine a wonderful show - air acromations, buskers, jugglers, musicians, magicians. All of that in the evening aura of the Lublin streets. Add to that some daredevils walking on the ropes between the buildings. Sounds good, doesn't it? During the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów (23-26 July 2020) and Urban Highline Festival (22-26 July 2020) the city temporarily turns into a circus arena. A must-see!
Are you into old customs and folklore? You will delve into traditional and modern folk art during the Jagiellonian Fair 2020 (21-23 August 2020). Colourful stalls full of handicraft, regional delicacies, concerts and folk open-air dances, and a gigantic gold hen travelling through the narrow streets of the Old Town - all that awaits you! The event reaches back to the tradition of XV century Lublin fairs. An important element is the Re:tradition concerts, that connects contemporary musicians with folk artists.
Lublin will be the tastiest in September, when European flavours will flood the streets. This year's European Festival of Taste (7-13 September) will allow you to get to know the culinary traditions of Belgium. The event will be accompanied by concerts, exhibitions, and other cultural events.
If you're an art geek you will surely be interested in the "Open City" - Festival of Art in Public Space (11 September - 9 October 2020). Amazing artiststic installation referring to the main theme of the event will appear in the city centre and make it into a real art gallery.
You will learn about the achievements of the most intersting characters connected with the contemporary theatre during the "Theatre confrontations" International Festival (8-18 October 2020). In the program we can also expect movie screenings, concerts, exhibitions, and meetings with the creators.
