In 2019 we are celebrating the 450th jubilee of signing the Union of Lublin. A quick reminder: on the 1st of July 1569 in Lublin, an agreement between the Crown of Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was signed. A new state was created, known as the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It had common monarchy, coat of arms, the Seym, currency, as well as foreign and defence politics. As a city, Lublin was not only a witness but also an author of the events that shaped free Poland. It was here where on the 7th of November 1918 Provisional People's Government of the Republic of Poland was appointed, and the city became a temporary capital of the country.
